Ottoman Empire withdraws from World War I On 30th October 1918, a ceasefire ceremony took place on a British warship named Agamemnon. It's between English government representative and Ottoman Empire to end Ottoman Empire's entry in WWI. Eventhough, the empire did stay neutral and didn't intend to involve in WWI since the end of 16th century but decided to team with Germany and involved in war on October 1914. However, in 1918, Ottoman soldiers lost to British and Russia. The lost and Arab demonstrations caused devastation to Ottoman land, economic and the death of six million people with millions left in starvation.
